Top Tips - How to make the most of VisitScotland Connect 2027

We've put together some recommendations for making the most of your time at VisitScotland Connect 2027. These include:

Pre-event

  • research the buyers in advance of the live event. Identify who may be the best fit for your target consumer, and secure meeting in your meeting diary as soon as your meeting diary becomes available
  • prepare to put time aside as soon as the meeting diary becomes available to maximise the opportunity this event offers - you want to arrive at the event with a full diary of pre-arranged meetings
  • prepare your elevator pitch about your product or service and, after the event, make time for prompt personal follow-ups. Information on how to prepare your business pitch can be found on the event portal

During event

  • prepare thoroughly and dress accordingly for your business meetings
  • use the first couple of minutes of your appointment as your introduction and allow three or four minutes at the end of the meeting to summarise the discussion and next steps
  • reassure buyers of the quality of your product and highlight your experience to cater well for their clients - you will be an extension of their own brand and it is vital you deliver reassurances to build a positive and mutually beneficial relationship with the buyers

Post event

  • make sure you follow up with your contacts as soon as possible upon returning home
  • some buyers may not be ready to immediately contract your product for the 2027 or 2028 season, but don't underestimate the value of this business relationship as they consider contracting for future years
